We are looking for an intern to join a dynamic and innovative engineering team in the connected vehicle space with SiriusXM. As part of this group you will get exposure to real world technology and hands-on exposure to software engineering work. Interns will get mentorship and will have an opportunity to truly experience large scale software applications, practical innovation and processes.

SiriusXM Connect has a dedicated intern program that is committed to provide mentorship to interns to shape their future and make them Market Ready by providing them an opportunity to work on real world applications.

What you’ll do
Contribute to the development and readiness of the SiriusXM automotive apps supporting SOA and NextGen products ahead of major OEM launches
Implement small features and assist in analyzing, debugging, and fixing software issues in a real-world Agile development environment.
Create and maintain simple automation scripts to improve testing efficiency and reduce manual effort.
Support API and service testing to ensure correct behavior and integration across multiple automotive OEM platforms.
Participate in code reviews, continuous integration, and regular development workflows alongside experienced engineers.
Update basic engineering documentation and assist with small internal tools that support the broader development and testing process.
Gain hands-on experience with modern android automotive technologies used in vehicle applications.
What you’ll need
Currently enrolled in a university program (students graduating by May 2027 preferred) or a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
Passion for computer science, software development, and building real-world applications.
Familiarity with software development fundamentals such as SDLC, software design principles, and system architecture.
Experience or coursework in at least one programming language; Kotlin, Java, Python, or similar languages are a plus.
Interest in android application development and modern development practices.
Curiosity, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively with moderate supervision.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team environment.
Prior internship or project experience writing software is a plus;
Legal authorization to work in the United States.
At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be $37-40/hr and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
