As the Design Lead, you will be responsible for spearheading bold and ambitious initiatives, which challenge the status quo and empower the organisation to achieve its strategic vision. You will work closely with the team to realise strategic opportunities across our product and brand.
You will conduct research to identify opportunities for innovation, sharing your findings with key internal stakeholders and championing evidence-led impacts to our vision and strategy. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define and deliver projects which result in significant value for both customers and internal stakeholders.
Additionally, you will lead the design team - overseeing designers and researchers successful implement new tools and processes — continuously improving our brand and equipping R+D teams with development-ready UX/UI artifacts. You’ll be required to understand the business and user’s needs and translate these needs into intuitive experiences with a focus on research, interaction design and technical feasibility. You’ll receive bonus points if you have experience working on SaaS products in an agile environment.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Scalable Design: Lead and oversee the design team, visualise innovative ideas and introduce tools and processes, which unify all aspects of our product and brand to increase customer confidence.
Strategic Leadership: Provide support to key leadership stakeholders, identifying opportunities to innovate and contribute to delivering our strategic vision.
Customer Insights: Develop a deep, empathetic understanding of our customers and their needs through a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods. Clearly articulate your findings and advocate for customer-centric solutions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with diverse, cross-functional teams to deliver projects which meet out ultimate strategic goals. Communicate the product vision and strategy clearly across different organisational levels.
Cultural Transformation: Evangelise a customer-centric culture, and advocate for processes which improve autonomy, velocity, and employee engagement.
Stakeholder Alignment: Engage with key leaders from across the business to define initiatives and strategies which align to our long-term vision. Clearly present the purpose and outcomes of initiatives, calling-out opportunities to improve.
Mentoring: Provide support, facilitation, and education to others to fostering a culture of customer-centricity, innovation, and collaboration.
To be successful you will possess the following skills and attributes:
Experience: Solid experience in the design industry, with experience managing teams. Strong experience designing SaaS products in agile teams.
Design Skills: Considerable experience in the end-to-end design process; including CX strategy, research; prototyping, high-fidelity design, and development-ready specifications.
Leadership: Proven experience in leading teams, introducing new tools and processes, and fostering a culture of innovation to achieve quantifiable results.
Customer Insights:Significant experience in conducting both qualitative and quantitative research to generate valuable insights, which inform strategic decisions.
Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
Industry tooling: Strong command of interaction and visual design and mastery of industry tooling (ideally Figma)
