Summary
Prepare and analyze phosphate ore samples from the mill, stock pile, and drill core, in addition to particle size and moisture content analysis. Reports to lab supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport and organize samples prior to preparation
- Break-up dry ore samples
- Process ore samples through the splitter
- Weigh samples for density and moisture content
- Combine and mix wet ore samples
- Dry and pulverize samples for assay
- Process ore samples via different screens for particle size percentages
- Operate and maintain lab equipment
- The employee shall perform his/her work duties in compliance with all Facility, Company, and Regulatory (State or Federal) Environmental, Health, Safety and/or Security policies, rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: maintaining a safe and secure work environment, protecting company sensitive information, and reporting suspicious or unauthorized activities and/or behaviors.
Typical Education
- High School diploma or equivalent
Requirements
- Valid drivers license or equivalent
- Ability to comprehend and follow instructions verbally and written
- Able to work in a team environment
- Prior lab experience

Physical/Environmental
- Lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and up to 75 pounds occasionally
- May be required to, but not limited to; sit ,stand, kneel, crouch, climb, bend, and reach for unspecified time periods during a shift
- Stand for extended periods of time
- May be required to work weekends and rotating schedule
- Work exposures may include, but not limited to, the following conditions: wind, rain, snow, extreme heat, extreme cold, noise, dust, chemical and electrical hazards
- Proper PPE (personal protective equipment) will be worn at all times
