About the Role

Hastings Deering is seeking an Application Specialist – Paving to join our Brisbane team.

Reporting to the Business Manager – Major Accounts, this role delivers high‑quality commissioning, demonstrations and application training for paving equipment. You will support customer productivity across a range of applications, help grow capability in the paving market and contribute to the expansion of our paving product and service offering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commission paving equipment and ensure readiness for customer use
  • Deliver operational and mechanical training tailored to paving applications
  • Conduct machine demonstrations with major customers across multiple applications
  • Work with Territory PSRs to develop rebuild opportunities for Asphalt Pavers, Profilers and Weiler Transfer Vehicles
  • Develop strategies to grow paving training as a supplementary revenue stream, including customised training packages
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities with the Product Manager
  • Submit Monthly Training Forecasts aligned to machine deliveries
  • Coordinate and support training events such as POT schools
  • Represent Hastings Deering at industry associations and forums (e.g., AAPA, Roads Australia)
  • Maintain clear communication protocols with Cat Paving and internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer focus and uphold the standards expected of a leading supplier

About You

You will bring:

  • 8+ years’ Product Support experience, or a trade background with progression into Product Support - ideally in the asphalt industry
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Marketing or equivalent experience
  • Trade certification/qualification will be highly desirable
  • Strong capability in building and maintaining positive customer relationships
  • Proven experience delivering practical and theoretical training on paving equipment
  • Solid understanding of Workplace Health & Safety practices
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and deliver confident training
  • Flexibility to travel across Queensland and the Northern Territory as required
