It takes a special person to be a Home Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their home and enhance their wellbeing. We are looking for a qualified person with 3 months or more experience in a similar role to join the Silverchain team in the Ransome 4154 area.

  • Award rate $31.13 - $43.24 per hour + Super + paid KM's

What we’re looking for 

We are looking for people who: 

  • Enjoy having variety in their day. 

  • Can build positive relationships with clients and their families. 

  • Care about assisting our aged community members to live independently at home for longer. 

  • Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.  

In addition, you will need: 

  • A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle. 

  • Certificate III or above in Aged Care or Individual Support or Disability.
  • Experience of 3 - 6 months or more in a similar role that includes personal care, manual handling, hoist training and assisting with medications.

The role 

In the role of Home Care Worker, you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as: 

  • General housekeeping and making beds. 

  • Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors. 

  • Washing, folding and ironing laundry. 

  • Meal preparation and grocery shopping. 

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as: 

  • Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day. 

  • Assisting with mobility and therapy goals. 

  • Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia.  

  • Providing social and emotional support. 

  • Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments. 

  • Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
