• Performs finishing operations as directed and assigned on a variety of product.  Such operations include packaging, assembly, rework, inspection, weighing, recording finished production.  Work under direct supervision.

• Packs cartons with empty plastic bottles at a standard rate.

• Twists, bends and lifts every carton.  This requires wrist and arm movements.

• Uses simple measuring instruments such as a ruler, scale or gages to check work.  General arithmetic knowledge is necessary to understand how to use these tools. 

• Monitors product for quality defects and promptly inform the operator and/ or the coordinator.

• Loads conveyors and flamers.

• Practices housekeeping on assigned line(s) and around machine including mopping if necessary.

• Removes scrap from around the line.

• Grind and pull plastic as needed.

• Makes and unitizes cartons as assigned.

• Initials and dates box labels.

• Makes out unit tickets.

• Does any other work as assigned by the Supervisor.

• Ability to work with 18- 30 lbs. per carton.

• Possibly packs 100 to 250 cartons in an 8-hour shift.

• May have to lift carton off the horse onto floor.

• Twists, bends and lifts every carton. 

• Promotes a safe working environment.

• Understands and adheres to all Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers.
