Sika was first established in Malaysia in 1989 and full operations commenced in 1991 through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sika Kimia Sdn Bhd, with the completion of its local head office and production plant in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan.  Since then, the company has gained a leading position in the country with the acceptance and endorsement of its products for construction and industrial applications by local and international proponents.

In the Construction sector, our business activities cover the full spectrum of project types ranging from infrastructural development to buildings, from institutional facilities to manufacturing plants.  We service our direct customers – concrete producers, contractors and distributors – and stay close to them through our central sales & marketing office in Petaling Jaya and a network of sales offices in Penang, Johor Bahru, Kuantan, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.  In 2014 our presence in the Malaysian construction continued to grow when our Ipoh Plant was built and running to meet customer demands.

In Malaysia, our Industry Division is the clear market leader in the automotive glass replacement sector (AGR) and the “Sikaflex” brand is instantly recognized as a mark for quality, reliability and performance.  In the automotive OEM sector, we are the approved supplier to top German car markets such as Mercedes Benz and BMW.  Meanwhile, Sika leads the field in total bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing and protection solutions for bus, truck and rail vehicle manufacturing, and for the assembly of appliances, industrial equipment and building components.

Sika Kimia Sdn Bhd currently employs more than 340 people in Sales & Marketing, Technical Service, Finance, HR & Administration, Laboratory, Production, Purchasing, Customer Service and Warehouse.

Job Description

Customer & Project Support

  • Collaborate with R&D and Product Management/Sales/Marketing to guide product development and lifecycle enhancements.
  • Provide and manage seminars, deminars, product demonstrations for customers and internal employees product launches for Building Systems products
  • Ensure customer complaints are investigated in a prompt and efficient manner and the findings are reported properly.
  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality technical support for clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide expert-level input on product selection, specification writing, and site-specific technical recommendations.
  • Manage site trials, performance validation, and the resolution of complex technical challenges at project locations.
  • Evaluate SIKA traded products and benchmark them with products available in the market
  • Accurate and regular electronic entry of technical files (reports, site pictures, presentations…) into local system (folders, data bases such as SharePoint), in compliance with the department filing guidelines in conjunction with the Regional Sales Managers develop new customers.
  • Maintain regular contact with Marketing Department, branch sales staff, major customers and technical associations to keep abreast of market requirements concerning product application and performance.

 

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure the development and dissemination of accurate and timely technical documentation including PDS, method statements, and application guidelines.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for technical support services, ensuring responsiveness, quality, and customer satisfaction.

 

Safety

  • To ensure the TSD area is maintained and upkeep in terms of housekeeping and EHS requirements.
  • Provide safe work environment and ensure safe practices are established and followed.
  • Ensure the company incident rate and loss time are reduced continually through promotion of EHS awareness, regular monitoring, provision of safe work environment and resources, and other viable means.

  • Maintain Sika information with appropriate secrecy and adhere to policies regarding confidential information
  • Maintain confidentiality of formulation at all times

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related fields is preferred.

Additional Information

  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of refurbishment system, repair systems, waterproofing, and industrial flooring.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel for site support, training, and customer engagement.
  • Able to work independently and efficiency under minimum supervision.
  • Positive attitude and always seek for better improvement.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical services or R&D within the construction chemicals industry.
