About this role

Are you looking for an opportunity to use your production scheduling skills in a meaningful work environment that supports and protects explorers and heroes? Join our team! As a Scheduler II, you will develop basic schedules, material requirements lists and production plans, monitor production activity to ensure a smooth and controlled flow of materials, and troubleshoot potential scheduling problems. You'll also maintain records on production and material deficiencies and prepare work orders for production or purchase requests based on production schedules.


As a Scheduler II, you will play a critical role in planning and optimizing production processes. Your responsibilities will include creating detailed schedules, material requirements lists, and production plans to ensure seamless and efficient operations. You'll actively monitor production activities, identify and troubleshoot potential scheduling conflicts, and maintain accurate records of production and material deficiencies.


In this role, you'll also contribute to forecasting work capacity and resource requirements to support long-term planning and operational efficiency. Reporting responsibilities include variance analysis, Gantt chart creation, Earned Value Management (EVM) data analysis, and leveraging other performance reporting tools to provide actionable insights and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Advanced Planning and Scheduling (ORTEMs).
  • Analyze production schedules and identify constraints.
  • Review and ensure data integrity.
  • Drive positive results and address negative outcomes.
  • Monitor and report trends within specific indicators and drivers.
  • Develop and lead continuous improvement plans and initiatives.
  • Assist in managing work instructions.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree a related field and typically 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Higher-level degree may substitute for relevant experience
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Understanding of basic manufacturing/production scheduling techniques
  • Experience with scheduling software
  • Knowledge of basic manufacturing and production scheduling techniques.
  • Thorough understanding of forecasting, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), scheduling, and planning.
  • Progressive experience with Material Management Systems and/or Manufacturing Systems
  • Understanding of Program Management, Operations, and/or Supply Chain Management processes.
    Advanced analytical skills.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Qualifications We Prefer:

Experience with Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) Tools:

  • Hands-on experience using ORTEMS or similar APS software for production scheduling and material planning.

Strong Analytical Skills:

  • Proven ability to analyze complex scheduling data and constraints, leveraging APS tools to optimize production schedules.

Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes:

  • Familiarity with manufacturing workflows and processes, including material management systems and forecasting techniques, to effectively utilize APS tools.

Continuous Improvement Focus:

  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for process improvements using APS tools and implement changes that enhance efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, such as supply chain, operations, and program management, to integrate APS-driven schedules into broader organizational goals.

Industry-Specific Knowledge:

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military is a plus, as it ensures familiarity with the unique scheduling needs of these sectors.

Technical Aptitude:

  • Comfort with learning new software applications and implementing them in a production environment, particularly starting from scratch with APS tools like ORTEMS.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $30.35 - $41.73. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
