Other specialties include spine and scoliosis care, plastic surgery, cleft lip and palate care, comprehensive rehabilitation and spinal cord injuries.
Job Overview
Shriners Children's Chicago has an opportunity for a Part-Time Patient Care Assistant in our Inpatient Unit. Join a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives. Hours: This part-time position is 48 hours bi-weekly (0.6 FTE) and the hours are 10:00 pm - 6:30 am with an every other weekend rotation and holiday rotation.
The pay range for this position is $18.65/hour - $23.32/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.
Responsibilities
- The Patient Care Assistant assists in the delivery of patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- The PCA provides direct patient care and performs routine tasks as assigned.
- Must consistently demonstrate caring and appropriate behavior when interacting with patients and families.
- Assists with wound and skin care, keeps unit and work areas stocked, and provides delegated nursing care activities as appropriate.
This is not an all-inclusive list of this job’s responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- One year of pediatric experience
