Operations Leadership</strong></h3> <ul> <li data-start="526" data-end="711">Lead the day-to-day performance of a functional area (Inbound, Outbound, Inventory) or an entire operational shift, ensuring compliance with safety, productivity, and quality standards.</li> <li data-start="714" data-end="890">Build and manage productivity plans by reviewing forecasts, determining labor requirements, and partnering with other Operations Managers/Industrial Engineers to balance labor.</li> <li data-start="893" data-end="1049">Lead and develop a team of 3–7 Supervisors and 50–200+ hourly associates, setting expectations, coaching performance, and building strong leadership layers.</li> <li data-start="1052" data-end="1198">Participate in interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to support strong operational culture and team development.</li> <li data-start="1201" data-end="1340">Act as the primary communication and accountability source for your teams, driving clarity, consistency, and corrective action when needed.</li> <li data-start="1343" data-end="1462">Drive cultural change within the facility, reinforcing best practices in safety, quality, engagement, and productivity.</li> <li data-start="1465" data-end="1554">Ensure accurate timekeeping and workforce planning for direct reports and assigned teams.</li> <li data-start="1557" data-end="1683">Address employee concerns, resolve operational problems, and ensure successful day-to-day execution of fulfillment operations.</li> </ul> <hr data-start="1685" data-end="1688"> <h3 data-start="1690" data-end="1756"><strong data-start="1694" data-end="1756">2. Fulfillment Center Performance &amp; Operational Excellence</strong></h3> <ul> <li data-start="1759" data-end="1915">Ensure operational excellence across all warehouse areas, equipment, and systems, maintaining sanitation, maintenance, security, and housekeeping standards.</li> <li data-start="1918" data-end="2036">Monitor and deliver key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational profitability, throughput, and efficiency.</li> <li data-start="2039" data-end="2157">Establish operational procedures for incoming/outgoing shipments, material handling, and warehouse inventory accuracy.</li> <li data-start="2160" data-end="2266">Maintain warehouse physical condition and ensure timely repairs, replacements, and equipment requisitions.</li> <li data-start="2269" data-end="2380">Coordinate warehousing activities with customer service, sales, and other internal teams to maintain alignment.</li> <li data-start="2383" data-end="2477">Maintain proper layout of the warehouse, ensuring optimal product placement and material flow.</li> <li data-start="2480" data-end="2573">Ensure compliance with internal policies, safety standards, and all operational requirements.</li> </ul> <hr data-start="2575" data-end="2578"> <h3 data-start="2580" data-end="2636"><strong data-start="2584" data-end="2636">3. Industrial Engineering &amp; Process Optimization</strong></h3> <ul> <li data-start="2639" data-end="2803">Design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems that optimize human workflows, inventory control, logistics, material flow, and overall production processes.</li> <li data-start="2806" data-end="2942">Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards, quality and reliability objectives, and performance metrics.</li> <li data-start="2945" data-end="3076">Develop and implement labor utilization standards, cost analysis systems, and process optimization initiatives to drive efficiency.</li> <li data-start="3079" data-end="3200">Draft and design optimized layouts for equipment, materials, and workspace using engineering tools and modeling software.</li> <li data-start="3203" data-end="3319">Recommend improvements to personnel utilization, warehouse flow, equipment configuration, and resource optimization.</li> <li data-start="3322" data-end="3445">Apply statistical and mathematical methods to determine staffing requirements, process standards, and workflow performance.</li> <li data-start="3448" data-end="3560">Review production schedules and engineering specifications to improve fulfillment center methods and activities.</li> <li data-start="3563" data-end="3661">Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on Safety, Quality, and Productivity.</li> </ul> <hr data-start="3663" data-end="3666"> <h3 data-start="3668" data-end="3720"><strong data-start="3672" data-end="3720">4. Quality Control &amp; Production Coordination</strong></h3> <ul> <li data-start="3723" data-end="3873">Coordinate and implement quality control objectives, procedures, and activities to resolve production problems, improve reliability, and reduce costs.</li> <li data-start="3876" data-end="3977">Direct teams involved in inspection, measurement, and testing to ensure quality control and accuracy.</li> <li data-start="3980" data-end="4102">Evaluate precision and accuracy of production and testing equipment, implementing corrective action plans where necessary.</li> <li data-start="4224" data-end="4352">Formulate sampling procedures, develop documentation standards, and ensure consistent reporting of quality and reliability data.</li> <li data-start="4355" data-end="4460">Regulate and adjust workflow schedules based on operational needs, lead times, and production sequencing.</li> <li data-start="4463" data-end="4581">Schedule deliveries based on production forecasts, material substitutions, storage requirements, and inventory levels.</li> <li data-start="4584" data-end="4721">Implement methods and procedures for handling discrepant, defective, or damaged materials while assessing responsibility and cost impact.</li> </ul> <h2><br><br><strong>What you'll need:</strong></h2> <ul> <li data-start="209" data-end="509"><strong data-start="209" data-end="266">Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering preferred</strong>, or a related field such as Supply Chain Operations, Fulfillment Center Operations, Distribution Center Operations, or Industrial/Systems Engineering.<br data-start="417" data-end="420"><em data-start="422" data-end="509">Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will also be considered.</em></li> <li data-start="513" data-end="715"><strong data-start="513" data-end="551">6 to 8 years of related experience</strong> in fulfillment center operations, supply chain operations, distribution center operations, industrial engineering, or a similar operational/analytical environment.</li> <li data-start="719" data-end="889">Experience with <strong data-start="735" data-end="773">Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)</strong> and familiarity with labor management systems, engineered labor standards, or productivity improvement initiatives.</li> <li data-start="893" data-end="1014"><strong data-start="893" data-end="928">Lean or Six Sigma certification</strong> preferred; ability to apply process improvement methodologies to optimize operations.</li> <li data-start="1018" data-end="1212">Proficiency with <strong data-start="1035" data-end="1068">enterprise technology systems</strong>, including Advanced Excel, Outlook/Gmail, Project Management Software, WMS platforms, and tools used for process workflow creation or analysis.</li> <li data-start="1216" data-end="1349">Ability to clearly <strong data-start="1235" data-end="1293">present complex operational or engineering information</strong> to managers, staff, clients, and internal stakeholders.</li> <li data-start="1353" data-end="1503">Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work with variable operational conditions where limited standardization exists.</li> <li data-start="1507" data-end="1646">Ability to interpret and work from <strong data-start="1542" data-end="1608">written, verbal, diagrammatic, and schedule-based instructions</strong>, including engineering documentation.</li> <li data-start="1650" data-end="1820">Proven experience <strong data-start="1668" data-end="1702">leading teams of 40+ employees</strong>, developing supervisors, building leadership layers, and managing performance across multiple levels of an operation.</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p>ShipMonk is an equal opportunity employer.
