In this role, you will work closely with the Family Services and Health teams to ensure timely completion of health screenings, accurate data entry, and proper follow-up so that every child receives the care and resources needed to thrive.

Your Role:

The Health Assistant is responsible for working collaboratively with the Family Services Team to ensure the successful completion of screenings, timely follow-up, and data entry for our children. This position works as a team with the Family Services & Health Coordinator to ensure the health and well-being of all children and achieve our outcomes for children of all abilities.

What You’ll Do:

  • Performs assigned duties in relation to the completion of all 45-day and 90-day health screenings, including using hearing and vision machines for internal screenings on children.

  • Completes data entry using Shine Early Learning’s data system.

  • Distributes a variety of health screening/requirements in conjunction with the Family Services & Health Coordinator.

  • Generates letters to parents.

  • Performs Health & Safety Audits as directed.

  • Ensures child ratio rules and regulations are maintained during center-based screening days.

  • Monitors center health and screening supplies and first aid kits to ensure adequate inventory.

  • Completes filing in a timely manner ensuring compliant record keeping practices.

  • Participates in assigned meetings, events and training as required.

What You Bring:

  • A high school diploma, GED, or HSED required; an Associate’s Degree in business or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional office/general administration experience; Head Start experience preferred.

  •  Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.
