Job Summary

We are seeking a Director, Solutions Content Strategy to lead SHI’s thought leadership and content strategies for SHI’s Strategic Marketing team. This role will own the full lifecycle of content development, from concept to execution to measurement, while collaborating with key stakeholders across SHI. This position sits at the intersection of editorial and brand building and will develop and lead new and innovative strategies for bringing SHI’s storytelling to the right audiences.

Own and elevate Strategic and Solutions Marketing content in all its forms — from web to thought leadership bylines to webinar and event storytelling. You’ll help shape our narrative across content mediums and executive voices to move B2B audiences to think differently.

Role Description

  • Lead flagship thought leadership: Own the strategy, development, and execution of SHI’s reports, embedding data, research, and frameworks into differentiated narratives. 

  • Influence and align SHI’s POV: Partner with executives and stakeholders across the business, partner ecosystem and SMEs to ensure alignment and buy-in across services, solutions and sales. 

  • Resonate with multiple audiences: Ensure initiatives connect with both leadership audiences in IT, Security, Data Center, and Procurement and practitioners (developers, architects, operators), showing the full portfolio and value of SHI. 

  • Monitor industry and competitive trends: Track news, research, and competitive narratives to ensure SHI’s thought leadership is timely, differentiated, and part of the broader market conversation. 

  • Measure and optimize impact: Define KPIs, track performance with analytics, and clearly communicate results back to stakeholders. 

  • Lead content creation across formats: Build and execute content strategies across content mediums, including but not limited to web, guides, thought leadership reports, articles and event storytelling (session abstracts, talk tracks, occasional deck work). 

  • Work with SHI marketing copywriters and creatives in a matrixed environment. 

  • Champion and push our brand voice across content channels to differentiate the brand and stand out amongst a crowded ecosystem.

Other Requirements

  • Completed Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field, or relevant work experience required

  • 10+ years in editorial, content development, or related roles, with at least 10 years in B2B marketing environments.  

  • 4+ years of experience in a management position required

  • Portfolio that demonstrates a mastery of storytelling across a wide range of marketing and projects across various target segments and verticals.   

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate and sell content ideas effectively.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and quality. 

  • Exceptional written communication skills and ability to produce clear, compelling, and creative copy. 

  • Leadership and management experience, demonstrating the ability to build and inspire teams, uplevel work, motivate and resolve conflict and misalignment. 

  • Background creating long-form content and event content, with a passion for writing and storytelling. 

  • Proven ability to craft content that connects with B2B buyers across multiple personas and stages of the funnel 

  • Ability to travel to SHI, Partner, and Customer Events

  • Ability to travel 25%

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $160,000 - $185,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
