Job Description:

What’s the role

As a Sr Risk & Control Advisor, you will act as a trusted partner to the business, advising on information security risks, impacts, and mitigations. You will support BISOs and business teams in securely enabling current and future activities by assessing technology and application risks, designing effective controls, and ensuring alignment with Shell’s Information Risk Management (IRM) standards.

What you’ll be doing

  • Be a trusted Risk Advisor and primary focal for business advising on risks, impacts and mitigations.
  • Support BISO’s in enabling (IDT) Business/Function’s current and future activities in a secure manner and being in control of their IT risks.
  • Review business application landscape on the key risk indicators to assess and risk health and drive risk mitigation efforts.
  • Understand Technology Landscape (Application and Infrastructure) and proactively review Shell’s information security and related threats and vulnerabilities, legal and regulatory requirements
  • Facilitates risk assessment process and design controls in line with control objectives and requirements and associated policies and guidance
  • Work with Natural Teams, Project Managers, Business Analysts, Architecture and Support Team to ensure Shell IRM standards are followed.
  • Advise on information security risks of vendor offerings – New/existing cloud service offerings including integration with Shell environment.

What you bring

Mandatory

  • Bachelor's in information technology or related degree with minimum 9 years relevant experience in Information Risk Management.
  • Experience in Risk Management role
  • Technical IT skills, evidenced by IT accreditations and/or proven experience
  • Substantial knowledge of, and experience with Information Risk Management, IRM processes, IRM portfolio, Business (IT)Controls Framework and project delivery.
  • Knowledge of external IT security standards, and relevant legal compliance aspects.
  • Comfortable facing off to senior management levels internally and externally
  • Understanding of project delivery methodologies such as waterfall, DevSecOps, Agile.
  • Understanding of IRM needs and standards considering risk and affordability to the Business as well as business impact.

Preferred

  • Certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CISM, CISSP, ISO (good to have)
