With respect, integrity and honesty, responsibilities include:

  • Provide high-quality electrical and controls engineering support across Shell Energy operated assets.

  • Deliver hands-on technical advice to site operational teams.

  • Support capital works projects, maintenance programs, and major equipment overhauls.

  • Undertake engineering studies, reports, and compliance testing.

  • Contribute to the development and integration of new assets into the Shell Energy portfolio.

  • Offer senior-level input into generator asset management and life-extension planning.

  • Scope, engage, and manage external contractors and engineering consultants.

  • Build strong working relationships with Equipment OEMs, AEMO, and NSPs.

Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:

  • RPEQ registration (or eligibility to obtain within 4 months of commencement).

  • Experience within the Australian energy sector and knowledge of power generation market rules and regulations (preferred).

  • Proven experience in operations and maintenance environments.

  • Strong understanding of heavy electrical systems, including control system hardware and protocols (Siemens PCS7, T3000, or Yokogawa preferred).

  • Experience with plant control systems logic and fault-finding.

  • Ability to plan and manage maintenance activities and capital upgrades.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail.

  • Willingness to travel to operational sites as required.
