Tufting Lead 2nd Shift

Position Overview

Shaw Industries is looking for Tufting Lead to assist the supervisor in the daily operation of the shift. To lead tufting associates by minimizing quality and waste as well as maximizing productivity. To maintain a safe work environment for all associates. May be required to relieve, replace or assist personnel for breaks, and/or absences.  

This position is on 2nd Shift at Plant WE in Chatsworth, Ga.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all jobs are performed correctly. This includes but is not limited to creeler, creeler operator, operator, lift truck operator, yarn clerk coordinator, and raw material technician.  

  • Assist with on-the-job training with all new associates.  

  • Assist with the solution of any production problems.  

  • Oversee and help set up tests and experiments.  

  • Assist supervisor with managing the floor and the flow of material.  

  • Assist in keeping work areas in a clean, orderly manner.  

  • Perform daily audits.  

  • Fill in for supervisor when needed.  

  • End of shift report 

  • Hourly machine update 

  • Pre-shift rounds  

  • Checklist 

  • Teir board meetings 

  • Complete daily leadership checklist 

  • Inspecting Greige Goods             

  • Inspecting Backing Styles  

  • Counting Stitches  

  • Measuring Pile Height
