Position Overview

Shaw Industries Group, Inc. is currently seeking candidates for the position of Inspector/Material Handler for our new state of the art flooring facility located in Ringgold, Georgia. The purpose of this position is to inspect product on the Profile Line to maximize product yield.

The Ringgold, Georgia plant manufactures flooring for the commercial, residential builder and retail markets domestically. It is a continuous operation (24/7) workforce.

Responsibilities:

• Visual inspection of the quality of the product and visual control of the Profile line to include but not limited to defects and grading.
• Visual and audio inspections of the Profile process and machinery.  Communicate quality or mechanical problems or concerns to Supervisors or Leads.
• Following the specific instructions on each order.
• Provide feedback on job assignment needs and improvement opportunities with peers and leadership
• Assist the department Lead in the daily production of quality flooring in the safest, most efficient and productive manner, by utilizing established methods and procedures.
• Perform all shift cleaning assignments.
• Other duties as requested by Lead or Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Must have the ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math.
• Must be familiar with or willing to learn current computer systems and software.
• Must be able to operate a lift truck once trained.
• Must be able to lift 5-15lbs on a regular basis throughout the day.
• Must have the ability to be cross trained for other jobs.
• Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
