Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$62.230 - $80.300 - $89.930


 

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices. 


 


What You Will Do
Provides advanced level programming support, data analysis, new application development and system design for all applications related to Business Intelligence technology.

Required Qualifications
  • 3 Years experience working with business intelligence tools that included systems analysis and/or information technology activities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree on an applicable field, such as Computer Science, Business Administration, Nursing, or Health Care Administration (Relevant experience in excess of five (5) years or appropriate certifications may be substituted)

Essential Functions
  • Design and development
    Performs comprehensive analysis, programming design and development activities associated with business intelligence.
    Interprets and translates functional specifications into appropriate database design documents and technical specifications using department standards.
    Utilizes sound knowledge of IS strategies and development tools to translate business requirements into system solutions that meet project requirements.
    Demonstrates forward thinking by conducting thorough analyses of data requests and changes to implement proposed solutions.
    Follows SDLC process in code development and utilizes department naming standards.
    Uses effective analysis skills to elicit business requirements.
    Develops templates and training documents for department to assist in understanding of data base design and data relationships.
    Collaborates with analysts, developers and data base administrators to resolve data issues and plan for implementation of new data feeds.
    Plans and develops implementation strategies associated with application implementation or upgrades.
  • Leadership
    Exercises leadership role with staff and clients to promote customer satisfaction and staff development. Provide guidance and direction to junior staff regarding work performance and business operations.
    Provides direction to staff regarding work performance and code development.
    Mentors other staff members and teams regarding systems supported and development tools.
    Demonstrates expertise regarding development tools and understanding of database design tools.
    Manages expectations and priorities through effective communication and interaction with analysts and other developers.
    Prioritizes projects such that deliverable dates are met for attainment of project goals. Communicates completion dates and delays proactively to analysts and/or project managers.
    Trains new IS staff in data base design, development standards and tools in order to maximize effectiveness and utilization of systems.
    Ensures that staff is cross-trained on applications and systems as required.
    Reviews the need for refresher or update training at least once annually and provides or coordinates training as required with management.
    Independent worker with ability to make sound judgments based on a wide spectrum of distinct issues and work with no supervision.
  • Problem analysis and resolution
    Analyzes complex issues and/or requests from client community to provide effective and creative resolution. Utilizes various department tools and resources to develop quality products and resolve problems.
    Performs a thorough problem analysis using sound judgment, initiative, and own discretion.
    Identifies root cause and determines remedies for problems.
    Identifies and communicates options and proposed solutions.
    Develops a comprehensive analysis of pros/cons and implications of proposed solutions.
    Demonstrates strategic and forward thinking by conducting through analyses of downstream and upstream impact of issues and proposed solutions.
    Seeks out required data and resources for problem analysis and resolution.
    Uses sound knowledge of business, strategic and IS strategies to functional specifications into technical specifications and/or system solutions that meet project requirements.
    Organizes resources within and outside the department for root cause analysis and resolution of systemic issues and develops a plan for resolution.
    Responds to on-call issues in a manner and timeframe consistent with the department guidelines.
    Provides second level support as needed to on-call personnel in the resolution and identification of reported issues.
  • Project management
    Demonstrates consistent and effective application of Project Management techniques.
    Determines and plans for appropriate project task support and task communication.
    Develops resource allocation, scheduling requirements and project requirements for development of project plan using knowledge of IS Guiding Principles.
    Determines an accurate scope, definition, and charter for the project.
    Analyzes request in order to complete technical specifications per department standards.
    Identifies the need for and implements appropriate change control procedures/documentation both departmentally and at the IS level.
    Establishes project timelines and completes projects within promised timeframes.
    Completes monthly project status reports and keeps management informed of project status.
    Completes Go-Live plan and support.
  • System maintenance
    Configures, develops, and executes test plans to ensure optimum system performance and adherence to change management processes.
    Ensures that all team members are using the appropriate test environment and following SDLC principles.
    Create, review and execute test plans such that no production delays occur due to negligence or failure to execute and/or review testing results.
    Promotes maintenance of software changes across the production and test environments according to department SDLC procedures.
    Performs the following testing phases as required with project: unit testing, integration testing, parallel testing, desktop testing (integration) and performance testing as required in a timely and accurate manner.
    Provides oversight to junior staff members on testing procedures to ensure that testing demonstrates adequate understanding of the following: application functionality; client workflow; tables; schemas.
    Monitors department code migration procedures.
    Coordinates and/or conducts code reviews on large projects and provides oversight to other developers in the code review process.
