Sales Engineer

Overview

This position is for a Senior Solutions Engineer to own technical relationships with sales prospects, evangelizing modern AI/ML operations and data infrastructure to audiences ranging from C-level executives to individual contributors and engineers.

You'll work closely with the sales team to support customers on a technical level, run presentations, lead design integration architectures, and help develop new accounts.

• Technical pre-sales leadership: Owning the technical relationship throughout the sales cycle, from initial discovery onwards
• Solution architecture: Designing and presenting AI/ML infrastructure solutions that solve complex engineering challenges
• Hands-on demonstrations: Building and delivering compelling demos that showcase how Shakudo accelerates AI/ML workflows and eliminates infrastructure complexity
• Customer enablement: Training and guiding customers on best practices for deploying and operationalizing AI/ML workloads on Shakudo
• Product feedback loop: Serving as the voice of the customer to our product and engineering teams

• 5+ years in technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting roles in data/AI/cloud infrastructure
• Strong technical foundation: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code
• Data & AI literacy: Understanding of ML workflows, data pipelines, and the tools data scientists and engineers use (Python, Jupyter, MLflow, Airflow, etc.)
• Solutions architect mindset: Ability to understand complex technical requirements and translate them into elegant platform solutions
• Exceptional communication skills: Can articulate technical concepts to both technical and business stakeholders with clarity and confidence
• Self-starter mentality: Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment where you'll need to figure things out and move quickly

• Experience with MLOps platforms, data orchestration tools, or platform engineering concepts
• Familiarity with the modern data stack (dbt, Fivetran, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)
• Domain knowledge in regulated industries (healthcare, finance, pharma) or high-growth tech
• Understanding of enterprise data governance, security, and compliance requirements
