Join SGS Industries & Environment and help drive the growth of our Industrial Valve Engineering services, with a key focus on Remote Diagnostic Monitoring solutions for vibration analysis, and industrial labour supply.

About the Role

We’re seeking a driven and proactive Business Development Manager to uncover new opportunities, lead the full sales cycle, and build strong client relationships across New Zealand. You’ll shape market strategy, secure new business, and maximise revenue growth in a fast‑paced technical environment.  This role will be based in either Auckland or Hamilton.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Lead the sales process from prospecting to contract award.
  • Build and maintain strong, long‑term client relationships.
  • Conduct market analysis on customer needs, pricing, and trends.
  • Develop and execute key account strategies.
  • Promote Remote Diagnostic Monitoring and vibration analysis services.
  • Drive sales activity including cold outreach and face‑to‑face meetings.
  • Track performance against KPIs, targets, and revenue goals.
  • Represent SGS at industry events and functions.

Qualifications

What You Will Bring

  • A true hunter mindset — confident in cold calling, prospecting, and presenting.
  • 2+ years’ experience in business development or technical sales in a related field.
  • Strong technical and operational understanding, ideally within industrial services.
  • A proven track record in Account Management, Sales, or Business Development.
  • Experience or strong knowledge of the Vibration Analysis sector (preferred).
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship‑building skills.
