We’re embarking on an exciting £415m project to replace 870 miles of old water pipes across the Midlands – and we want you to be part of it. We are looking for a Risk and Contingency Planner (12-month contract) to be based out of either our Gloucester or Shropshire office.

 

 

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW  

 

 

Your role will be to provide technical input throughout the Mains Renewal project lifecycle, with a focus on commissioning. You'll work closely with construction teams and Network Control to develop and deliver risk and contingency (R&C) documents and methodologies.

 

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Create, amend, and approve R&C documents, managing interventions across two regions.
  • Deliver R&C and commissioning plans with construction teams and network engineers.
  • Contribute to design meetings, lockdown meetings, site visits, and training plans.
  • Lead R&C meetings, monitor all R&C documents, and facilitate handover to production.
  • Provide technical support during R&C creation, commissioning, and project handover.
  • Drive the ‘Health and Safety’ standards programme within the team, encourage new ideas or initiatives and promote a safety focused culture within the group

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE 

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to bring proven experience in commissioning activities and writing R&C documents. Technical skills in DST/Water engineering or similar fields are desirable.

 

You should have demonstrated success in project delivery with a proactive and forward-looking mindset.

 

 

Some other capabilities include knowledge of risk management, strong communication, report writing, and presentation skills. Anticipating problems and developing solutions as well as effective delegation to achieve project milestones and team development.
