Dynamy is an innovative, gap year program for young adults from across the country and internationally, servicing students ages 17- 22 years old. Students can apply for a full academic year or semester where they are immersed in a challenging schedule of activities, resulting in increased focus, maturity, self-awareness, and critical thinking skills. Dynamy challenges, supports, and empowers young people to discover their purpose in life and to practice their values. Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Plan and facilitate weekly individual and/or group advising meetings to support students in meeting their educational goals, personal goals and program requirements.• Complete advising notes following each advising session.• Work with students to set-up internship placements.• As part of the program team, plan and implement psycho-educational workshops and experiential activities.• Conduct Internship Agreement meetings with student, sponsor, and Dynamy Advisor.• Conduct closing meetings at the end of each internship placement with the student, sponsor, and Dynamy Advisor.• Maintain communication with internship sponsor, as deemed necessary.• Conduct 1 evaluation per semester per student.• Maintain a minimum of monthly communication with parents.• Document contact with families in the Parent Communication log.• Work with the student to maintain their individual portfolio including completing paperwork, filing, etc.• Document student internship hours in the Internship Hours log.

Additional Responsibilities

- Establish new internship sites to meet the ongoing need/want of the students.- Attending supervision, staff meetings, and program planning meetings.

Qualifications

1.Bachelors's Degree needed, Master’s Degree preferred.2.Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation3.Minimum-1-2 years in education\youth development\mentoring required4.Knowledge of learning differences preferred.

 

Physical Requirements

- Must be able to perform sedentary aspects of position, including, but not limited to desk and computer work, typing, driving to meetings and trainings, as well as driving/transporting clients as necessary.-Must be comfortable with various tasks that exist outdoors.-Able to lift at least 25 pounds.- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
