    Pay: $21.00-$22.92/hour (based on experience)

    The Aide Behavioral Counselor II plays a key role in supporting the educational and therapeutic needs of students within a structured, team-based environment. This position assists in maintaining safety, implementing behavioral interventions, and supporting daily routines that contribute to each student’s personal, emotional, and academic development.

     

    Schedule: Full-time - With a potential of one late day rotating 

    • Monday 7:15am-3:15pm
    • Tuesday 7:15am-3:15pm 
    • Wednesday 7:15am-3:15pm 
    • Thursday 7:15am-3:15pm 
    • Friday 7:15am-3:15pm

Responsibilities

  • Support the Aide Behavioral Counselor I and education staff with classroom-based behavioral interventions

  • Follow approved behavior management procedures and therapeutic crisis intervention guidelines

  • Maintain continuous visual and auditory supervision of students

  • Assist teachers by providing academic support and preparing instructional materials

  • Complete all required documentation accurately and within designated timelines

  • Support students in morning routines, including waking, hygiene, meals, and preparation for daily activities

  • Conduct timely room checks and help maintain a clean, safe living environment

  • Implement daily shift routines and established program structures

  • Serve as a positive role model and reinforce pro-social, respectful behavior

  • Participate in required training sessions and maintain necessary certifications, including CPR and First Aid

  • Assist in planning, leading, or supervising recreational activities, both on and off campus (as trained and approved)

  • Uphold all organizational policies, procedures, and expectations

  • Maintain reliable attendance and report for assigned shifts on time

  • Fulfill mandated scheduling requirements, including additional coverage as needed to meet staffing ratios

  • Assume the duties of the Aide Behavioral Counselor I when required

  • Support students in developing appropriate behavioral, hygiene, and personal habits

  • Monitor phone calls, visits, or other supervised activities as assigned

  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support student care and program operations

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or HiSET
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Valid Class C or D driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass CORI, SORI, DCF, and fingerprinting background checks
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to use sound judgment, maintain professional boundaries, and work as part of a team
  • Ability to remain alert and meet physical requirements, including Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) restraint with or without accommodation
  • Availability for mandatory two week in person New Employee Orientation, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 

Education and Experience

  • Minimum six months experience in human services preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
