Position Overview

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for managing and processing tenant rent payments, and subsidy receipts within the organization. This role is essential for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all receivables, ensuring timely application of payments, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. The AR Specialist will work closely with the Revenue Cycle Supervisor to ensure that all accounts receivable functions are performed efficiently and in accordance with organizational policies.

 

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Process and record tenant rent payments and subsidy receipts in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Apply payments to appropriate tenant accounts and reconcile any discrepancies.
    • Assist in the preparation of accounts receivable reports and maintain up-to-date records.
    • Handle tenant inquiries related to billing, payments, and account status.
    • Coordinate with the Revenue Cycle Supervisor to resolve any payment or billing issues.
    • Perform regular account reconciliations and follow up on outstanding receivables.
    • Support the implementation of best practices for accounts receivable processes.
    • Assist with periodic audits and provide necessary documentation as required.
    • Assist with seasonal Tasks assigned.

    Qualifications

    • REQUIREMENTS:

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounts receivable or a similar financial role.
    • Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes and principles.
    • Effective written and oral communication skills.
    • Hybrid work in the central office 2 Days per week.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • Experience in a non-profit or affordable housing setting.
    • Familiarity with accounting software and systems.
    • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office suite and financial software.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational skills.
