Overview:

Sr Maintenance Technician

This individual is responsible, as directed by the Property Manager for both security and general maintenance activities, including actively inspecting the buildings, monitoring activity in and around the building, as well as performing general maintenance as necessary on all aspects of building structure and systems to include floors, walls, ceilings, lighting, HVAC, tube system, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other systems. The General Maintenance Mechanic performs tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Team Leader, Property Manager and Director with daily operations, quality and service, achievement of goals and objectives, customer satisfaction, and in meeting regulatory requirements, including internal construction projects

  • Conduct scheduled facility maintenance to maintain a safe and fully functional facility. 
  • Performs daily inspections, preventive maintenance or life safety repairs as required to ensure all local, state, and federal codes are in compliance. 
  • Diagnose problems and perform corrective maintenance and repairs on a variety of plant equipment located in industrial areas or mechanical rooms. 
  • Perform basic electrical, plumbing, and heating, ventilation, and assist with (HVAC) repairs and maintenance, and coordinates with local vendors to perform trades projects outside of mechanic's scope.
  • Operates hand tools and power tools safely and according to manufacturer’s instructions. 
  • Use protective measures to minimize safety risks to self and others while performing job duties. 
  • Accepts and performs work related to calls for repair (repair request calls).  Responds immediately when fire alarm activates; disengages electrical, water, or gas systems as directed to protect patients, staff, or equipment. 
  • Use electronic media to evaluate and complete work orders. 
  • Good knowledge of electricity, carpentry and plumbing among other technical skills. 
  • Good knowledge of troubleshooting techniques to determine exact problems and address them accordingly. 
  • Other duties as required. 
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office products software.

Education

  • Associate Level Degree or 3 years prior related ESD/Maintenance experience in lieu of degree

Certification/Licensure

    • Virginia or North Caroling driver's license in good standing is required (no point/excessive points)

    Experience

    • Previous maintenance experience required
    • Healthcare experience strongly preferred
    • This position is in Williamsburg VA
    • VA or North Carolina Driver's License in good standing--report obtained through DMV record
