In this role you will be responsible for proxy caregiver training; administering skills competency checklists to resident care aides upon hire; quarterly observations of medication aides to verify competency with medication administration; and annual competency reviews for resident care aides.

Job Description

Seeking RN to split time between our three Maine Communities - Gorham House, Clover Healthcare, and Sentry Hill at York Harbor.

  • Provide regional clinical oversight and support to Maine communities, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations as well as Senior Lifestyle Corporation policies and procedures.
  • Conduct proxy caregiver training for newly hired staff and provide annual retraining or additional education as needed to ensure ongoing competency.
  • Perform weekly, monthly, and quarterly medication pass observations of medication aides, including thorough documentation to verify continued competency and regulatory compliance.
  • Complete and maintain skills competency checklists for medication aides and resident care aides upon hire and annually thereafter.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to clinical emergencies, providing guidance, assessment, and support to onsite teams.
  • Maintain consistent and collaborative communication with Health and Wellness Directors to support clinical operations, quality of care, and regulatory readiness.
  • Plan and deliver educational meetings and targeted trainings for resident care staff based on identified needs, regulatory updates, or performance improvement initiatives.
  • Provide staff in‑services and ongoing clinical education to licensed and non‑licensed staff across skilled nursing and long‑term care settings.
  • Provide management, supervision, and clinical guidance to licensed and unlicensed care staff as needed to support safe, high‑quality resident care.
  • Support the communities by filling essential clinical vacancies as identified by the regional leadership.

Qualifications

  • You have at least an Bachelor’s Degree in a nursing field.
  • 3+ years of nursing or direct resident care experience in a healthcare facility. 
  • You have management experience. 
  • You currently have an active nursing license.
  • You currently have a valid Driver’s license.
  • You are comfortable and content with consistently travelling for business purposes.
  • You professionally communicate and listen to residents, guests, and coworkers.
  • You are able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile residents.
  • You have great management skills and a willingness and desire to work harmoniously with all staff members. 
  • You express compassion and patience through your work, even when your job is stressful at times.
