We are looking for a highly experienced Systems Design Manager to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary rail system design teams across major railway and transit projects. This role is ideal for a senior engineering professional who thrive in complex environments and excel at guiding diverse technical teams toward integrated, high quality solutions.

Please note: Must be local to Toronto area to be considered

This position will be to work on various projects in Rail (High Speed, Metro, LRT, streetcars) in the Toronto office.

Responsibilities of the role:

• Manage and provide technical leadership to system design teams covering Traction Power (TPS), Overhead Catenary Systems (OCS), Communications (COMMs), SCADA, Signaling, and Track.

• Oversee development of system designs, technical specifications, interfaces, and integration activities across all disciplines.

• Coordinate closely with civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical teams to ensure seamless multidisciplinary project delivery.

• Lead design reviews, support issue resolution, and ensure compliance with industry standards, client requirements, and project objectives.

• Promote best practices in systems engineering, documentation, configuration control, and quality assurance.

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of experience in railway or transit system design and engineering

• Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams

• Strong technical background in rail systems integration and interface management

• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑coordination skills

• Experience on large Rail and transit projects

• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada already
