The <strong>Controller </strong>is responsible for overseeing the general accounting and financial reporting functions and the financial services area including accounts receivable and accounts payable.</p> <p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Oversees all general accounting functions, which includes cash management/reconciliation, financial reporting, and balance sheet management.</li> <li>Accountable for ensuring that financial policies and procedures (internal controls) are documented and in place to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected.</li> <li>Ensures that company financial records are maintained in compliance with applicable federal and state and local regulations, company policies and professional accounting “Best practices”, processes and procedures.</li> <li>Maintains record of fixed assets (furnishing, office equipment, etc.) and coordinate a quarterly inventory of fixed assets with each department, including the information technology department for computer-related assets.</li> <li>Prepare baseline content for the corporate annual budget process utilizing acceptable accounting principles, practices and processes, then provide the resulting report and support documentation to the CFO.</li> <li>Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting and reporting financial data.</li> <li>Manage the accounts receivable collections efforts, in a manner that ensures effective resolution while maintaining superb customer service practices.</li> <li>Coordinates periodic internal and external audits of company financial records and implements agreed upon recommendations that result from audit findings.</li> <li>Prepares special reports, as necessary, by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.</li> <li>Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating appropriate corrective actions.</li> <li>Ensures that the finance department is staffed with qualified financial personnel capable of meeting the objectives and responsibilities noted above.</li> <li>Maintains financial staff job results by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.</li> <li>And all other duties that may be assigned by direct reporting authority.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Education and/or Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other Business- related program from an accredited college or university.&nbsp;</li> <li>CPA certification.</li> <li>Ten years of accounting experience</li> <li>Ten years of Management experience.</li> <li>Experience in analyzing business performance and developing financial plans.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of internal controls and financial reporting.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams.</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><strong><u></u></strong></p> <p><strong><u>Equal Opportunity Statement:</u></strong><br>Seneca Holdings provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex/gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, marital status, genetic information and/or predisposing genetic characteristics, victim of domestic violence status, veteran status, or other protected class status.
