About this role

The EVS Shift Supervisor assists in managing and supervising the Environmental Services (EVS) Department on an assigned shift. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.    Oversee operations of Environmental Services including: the cleaning of the casino, public access areas, and restaurants on an assigned shift.
2.    Assist with instruction and training of EVS staff.
3.    Maintain exceedingly high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. 
4.    Monitor areas to ensure proper appearance of facilities is maintained through use of checklists and visual inspections.
5.    Monitor inventory/supplies and recommend purchase of supplies to supervisor. 
6.    Perform EVS duties along with staff as deemed necessary.
7.    Assist in other projects, as required.
8.    Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy.  Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times.
9.    Provide exceptional 4 Diamond customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times.  Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.
10.    Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
11.    Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.
12.    Attend all necessary meetings.
13.    Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed.  Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: 

Education/Experience:
1.    Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
2.    High School diploma or equivalent required. 
3.    Minimum of one (1) year experience in the field of environmental services.
4.    Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
5.    Must be familiar with proper use of all cleaning equipment and chemicals.
6.    Proficient computer skills preferred.

1.    Must possess excellent communication skills. 
2.    Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
3.    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
4.    Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
5.    Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud. When on the casino floor, the noise levels increase to loud.  Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.
1.    Adequate manual dexterity to operate cleaning equipment.
2.    Occasionally lifts/moves over twenty-five (25) pounds of cleaning equipment.
3.    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
4.    Employee must work with cleaning chemicals, and must be able to properly dilute, use and insure their safety, as well as other who come in contact with chemicals.
5.    Occasional travel is required.
6.    Must be able to climb and descend ladders.
7.    Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.
8.    Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
 

Salary Starting Rate:

$17.33

Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.
 

Each position has varying minimum qualifications. In the absence of fully qualified candidates, some requirements may be waived.
