ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1. Service, repair, replace and maintain walk-in and reach-in freezers, refrigerators, ice makers, and milk coolers replacing components including motors, Freon, belts, thermometers, and adjust controls to accommodate specific types of Freon used in any particular appliance.
2. Repair, descale, maintain, and replace dishwashers and electric or gas water and booster heaters.
3. Maintain pumps.
4. Replace valves, belts, filters, bearings, gears, and motor parts.
5. Maintain and repair electronic combo-ovens, convection and standard ovens, steam ovens, industrial mixers, choppers, steam kettles, tilting braisers, and steamers.
6. Install gas valves, electric fans, vents, thermocouples, pilot lights, and door springs.
7. Repair and maintain heating and refrigeration units on food carts, fabricates and mounts sneeze guards.
8. Install electrical lines by running conduit, pulling wire, installing outlets; and repairs motors, switches, plugs, and appliance cords.
9. Replace pipes, faucets, and reversing and standard switches; locate and repair leaks; repair or replace industrial garbage disposals, clear minor blockages from sinks and disposals; cut and thread pipe, and sweat copper pipes.
10. Assemble a variety of kitchen racks and carts, mounts computer brackets for touch screens.
11. Maintain records of materials and time spent performing various maintenance and repair jobs.
12. Recommend repair or replacement of specific kitchen equipment.
13. Responsible for the guiding of the day-to-day operations of the on-site Appliance Technicians including the training of staff and the planning and scheduling of work performed by other appliance technicians and subcontractors in regards to projects.
14. Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times.
15. Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.
16. Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
17. Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.
18. Attend all necessary meetings.
19. Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
1. Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
2. High school diploma or equivalent is required and any combination equivalent to ten (10) years of experience in the journey-level repairs of kitchen equipment.
3. Must have knowledge of electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, electronic and refrigeration methods, current technology, principles and practices related to institutional kitchens. Kitchen maintenance and repair, including circuit tracing and troubleshooting skills related to electric motors, pumps, compressors, and electronic sensors knowledge required.
4. Must know current refrigeration technology and EPA regulations.
5. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to substantiate a safe driving record within the parameters acceptable to our liability insurance carrier.

1. Must possess excellent communication skills.
2. Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
3. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
4. Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
5. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

When on the casino floor, the noise levels increase to loud. Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.
1. Adequate manual dexterity to operate small and large kitchen equipment.
2. Works in wet, cold, hot, and greasy conditions inside and outside central kitchen areas. Works in confined areas including over ceilings, through crawl spaces, and on roofs, climbing ladders to and from roof to repairs or replace motors and ventilation equipment.
3. Regular exposure to electricity, gas, Freon, motor oil, and other hazardous materials.
4. Occasionally lifts over fifty (50) pounds, moving heavy kitchen equipment.
5. Occasional travel is required.
6. Must be able to effectively understand and communicate to employees.
7. Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.
8. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.
Each position has varying minimum qualifications. In the absence of fully qualified candidates, some requirements may be waived.
