To accelerate the next phase of organic growth in both new and legacy search environments SelectQuote is growing its SEO/AI search team. The Technical SEO & AI Strategist will work in coordination with the SEO search team to achieve SEO/AI search performance goals. This position will be responsible for overseeing technical SEO projects for SelectQuote one of the country’s preeminent national insurance brokerages.

The Technical SEO & AI Strategist will be responsible for supporting strategic technical web initiatives aimed at optimizing SEO and AI performance across SelectQuote domains. SelectQuote is looking for candidates with an analytical mindset entrepreneurial spirit and a keen interest in machine learning.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Routinely execute technical audits of SelectQuote's domains (crawlability rendering CWV canonicalizations sitemaps internal linking schema validation robots.txt files)
• Identify prioritize and take needed corrective actions for identified technical issues
• Lead SEO quality assurance both pre- and post-launch for new features templates and site updates
• Partner with web and development teams to support implementation of structured data mobile-friendly and accessibility optimizations and JavaScript SEO enhancements
• Help develop automated workflows for SEO team to scale and surface insights
• Collaborate with the SEO Director on AEO/GEO research and tests
• Analyze log and crawl files to track and interpret bot behavior to surface inefficiencies and opportunities
• Stay current on latest news & trends in SEO and AI industry

Skills/Abilities:

• Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
• Experience translating SEO needs into clear actionable requirements for development teams
• Familiarity with how LLMs and AI agents operate and an enthusiasm to learn more
• Comfortable testing and utilizing AI tools for tasks and workflows
• Able to analyze large data sets and derive actionable insights
• Resourceful autonomous curious

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
• 5+ years technical SEO experience
• Experience in or adjacent to a YMYL industry (insurance fintech or health)
• Frequent user of generative AI search platforms (ChatGPT Gemini Copilot etc)
• Skilled with relevant industry software such as Screaming Frog Google Analytics Google Search Console Ahrefs Looker etc.
• Fluency with HTML and Javascript; Python also desirable
• Prior experience working with schema markup and structured data
• Desired – experience working with Contentful

Physical Requirements:

• Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to office and operational sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

The Compensation for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply.
