Marine Adjuster

PROPÓSITO PRINCIPAL:
Inspeccionar carga dañada durante el tránsito y determinar la naturaleza, causa y alcance de los daños; revisar documentos para determinar cuándo la carga fue dañada; y proporcionar informes escritos a los aseguradores y otras partes con su opinión calificada sobre la causa de la pérdida.

FUNCIONES ESENCIALES Y RESPONSABILIDADES

  • Supervisa la carga y descarga de mercancías de barcos y otros medios de transporte para documentar los daños a medida que se cargan y/o descargan.
  • Inspecciona barcos dañados para determinar la causa del daño y la cantidad de daños resultantes de colisiones o fallas mecánicas.

  • Realiza otras tareas asignadas.
  • Apoya los programas de calidad de la organización.
  • Viaja según sea necesario.

CALIFICACIONES

Educación y Licencias
Se prefiere título universitario de una institución acreditada.

Experiencia
Cinco (5) años o más de experiencia relacionada o una combinación equivalente de educación y experiencia (requerido).

  • Buenas habilidades de comunicación oral y escrita
  • Manejo de PC, incluidos productos de Microsoft Office
  • Buenas habilidades de servicio al cliente

PRIMARY PURPOSE
:
 To inspect cargo damaged in transit and determine the nature, cause, and extent of damages; to review documents to determine when the cargo was damaged; and to provide written reports to underwriters and other parties with his/her qualified opinion as to the cause of loss.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees loading and unloading of cargo from ships and other forms of transit to document damages as they are loaded and/or unloaded.
  • Inspects damaged ships to determine cause of the damage and amount of damage resulting from collisions or motor failures.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supports the organization's quality program(s).
  • Travels as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Experience
Five (5) years or more of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
  • Good customer service skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies

  • Have the ability to: climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, and reaching/working overhead.
  • Be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Be able to drive up to 4 hours per day.
  • Must have continual use of manual dexterity
