Together, these solutions position Security Compass as a leader in proactive application security.</p> <p>As <strong>QA Manager</strong>, you’ll be reporting to the Vice President, Engineering.&nbsp; You will own quality outcomes across the product lifecycle, combining hands-on QA leadership with strong cross-functional collaboration to drive predictable, high-quality releases.</p> <p>We are open to candidates across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). We are a remote-first company with a head-office in Toronto.&nbsp; We don’t mandate team members to come in on a particular schedule, however we encourage team members to come into the office to foster connection with their colleagues on a schedule that works for them personally.</p> <p><strong>What you’ll do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own and drive the QA strategy and execution, applying standardized QA practices with a strong focus on automation to ensure consistency across teams</li> <li>Leverage AI-assisted testing and intelligent automation tools to optimize QA workflows, improve test effectiveness, and accelerate feedback cycles across the development lifecycle</li> <li>Ensure timely test planning and execution for all releases, including regression coordination and release quality sign-off</li> <li>Collaborate closely with the Product and Engineering to embed quality early in the development lifecycle</li> <li>Influence without authority and drive alignment with cross-functional teams</li> <li>Drive effective use of test automation as part of the overall quality strategy to improve coverage, speed, and release confidence</li> <li>Continuously evolve processes, tooling, and practices to improve quality, efficiency, and release confidence.</li> <li>Lead, mentor, and grow QA engineers while fostering a strong quality-first culture.</li> <li>Define and track key quality metrics to improve release confidence and reduce defect leakage and support data-informed decision-making.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What you’ll need to succeed&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>7+ years of hands-on experience in software quality engineering.</li> <li>2+ years of experience leading or mentoring QA/SDET engineers, ideally in a player-coach capacity.</li> <li>Experience mentoring others and fostering a culture of ownership, and accountability.</li> <li>Proven ability to own test strategy, release readiness, and regression prevention for complex systems.</li> <li>Comfortable staying hands-on while setting direction and standards for the team.</li> <li>Strong cross-functional communication skills with the ability to influence without authority.</li> <li>Tools familiarity with - Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, Python, NodeJs, K6, Linux/Darwin OS’.</li> <li>Strong testing Automation practices are necessary.</li> <li>Nice to Have: <ul> <li>Exposure to or interest in applying AI-assisted testing or automation tools to improve test coverage, efficiency, or quality insights.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Security Compass?&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Meaningful Work</strong>.&nbsp; We contribute towards making technology in the world more secure and our vision is one of a world where we can trust technology.</li> <li><strong>Trust.</strong>&nbsp; It’s important to us that you trust those you work with and are empowered to be yourself. Our goal is to create a safe, equitable workplace where everyone feels like they belong.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What does the interview process look like?</strong></p> <p><strong>Phone Interview –</strong> You’ll start with a 15–20-minute phone screen with someone from our Recruitment team to learn more about your background and goals for your next role.</p> <p><strong>Technical Interview - </strong>A formal technical discussion with the Director of Engineering and a Senior QA Engineer, focused on your technical experience and approach to quality and automation.</p> <p><strong>Practical -</strong> A discussion-based practical involving scenario questions to think through and talk through in the next step.</p> <p><strong>Hiring Manager Interview -&nbsp;</strong>A conversation with the VP of Engineering, including a 20-minute discussion focused on practical experience and real-world application.</p> <p><strong>Culture-Add Interview – </strong>This is a 30-minute virtual meeting with either our Chief People &amp; Culture Officer or CEO to learn how your values align with our CCOAR values of Customer Focus, Collaboration, Ownership, Authenticity and Respect.&nbsp;</p> <p>Note: <em>We use an AI-enabled interview tool (BrightHire) to support note-taking and review during the hiring process.
