Basic Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old; 21+ years old with a degree in Biology/Zoology, Education, or Environmental Science preferred.
  • Prospective candidates must be available to work the full length of the summer schedule, May 21st  through August 5th 2026.
  • Previous related experience with camps and/or working with children preferred.
  • A valid Driver's License with ability to meet SEA’s driving guidelines.
  • Be able to stand, walk, and work for prolonged periods of time in sometimes extreme weather conditions.
  • Be able to push, pull, lift to 50 pounds, occasionally carrying between floors.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including early shifts, evenings, weekends, and overnights.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification, preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing job duties/tasks of positions within scope of supervision.
  • Establishes and maintains a positive atmosphere which ensures the highest level of ambassador performance and guest service while enforcing and complying with safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Supervises, trains and counsels ambassadors while ensuring proper training and development in accordance with Busch Gardens guidelines.
  • Complies with area opening and closing procedures and ensures all ambassadors complete tasks within a timely manner.
  • Help counselors identify and respond to camper behavior issues in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with parents daily about participant’s experiences and report any issues to Camp Leadership.
  • Know and understand all emergency policies and procedures associated with Camp programs.
  • Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with Camp and all program areas. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for camper’s safety and their whereabouts at all times.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports, counselor documentation, and daily attendance.
  • Take responsibility for the maintenance, inventory and organization of all Busch Gardens Camp supplies, equipment, artifacts, and program areas used in daily operation. Informs the Camp Supervisor when supplies or equipment need to be ordered or replaced.
  • Assists in ensuring all daily program needs are met including preparing supplies and program areas for counselors and campers.
  • Participate in camper evaluations, follow-up paperwork and daily/weekly reports for Camp.
  • Become thoroughly familiar with the CampDoc application to be prepared in advance for upcoming campers’ needs.

  • Strong leadership qualities are a must.
  • Consistently practices safe work habits including, but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, lifting, and reporting of unsafe situations.
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals and groups respecting social and cultural diversity, recognize/consider the needs of others in daily interactions and decision-making, and maintain appropriate boundaries using interpersonal skills (skills used to reduce stress and conflict, improve communication, and increase understanding).
  • Ability to use effective and appropriate self-care practices for maintaining overall wellness and mental, emotional, and social resiliency (such as handling stressful situations appropriately) needed for the job in a fast-paced, interactive environment.
  • Must be willing to comply with and ensure ambassadors comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards.
  • Must be able to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements to include but not limited to passing required tests and certifications within established timelines.
