About this role

We are seeking a licensed Mental Health Therapist (MHT) to join our outpatient services in a joint appointment to Behavior and Attention Management (BAM) Program. BAM serves children and adolescents ages 5 to 12 with externalizing behavior issues, and most interventions are focused on parent management training, with limited treatment offered directly to children. The MHT will be part of the Disruptive Behavior Crisis Clinic team, offering parent management training to parents whose children are in crisis. The MHT will be providing consultation focused evaluations, and parent management training both individually and via group. Preferred candidates will have strong interest in working with parents of school aged children with primarily externalizing behaviors. The MHT will attend several weekly consultation meetings and work as part of a team of providers, delivering evidence-based treatment. Training in models of care will be provided. This position will primarily be virtual and may involve some days working in-person at the Magnuson campus of Seattle Children's Hospital in North Seattle. To help support equity in access to services, all team members are expected to be available at least 1 evening per week based on business need.

Required Education and Experience
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field. Minimum two years experience in providing direct treatment services to children and families. May work evening & weekends as required.

Required Credentials
Licensed as a Mental Health Professional in Washington State in appropriate field according to degree (e.g., LICSW, LMFT). For staff that work in schools, prior to the start of employment, individuals are required to submit a copy of a receipt directly to Human Resources (electronically) confirming they have completed the fingerprinting process as outlined by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). Prior to start of employment, must obtain, and maintain in good standing, medical or allied health professional staff privileges that are not limited, revoked, suspended, conditioned, or probationary, except for normal probationary periods due to initial appointment. All medical and allied health professional staff members are provisional for the first year. Any and all medical or allied health professional staff privileges at Children's will terminate automatically upon the termination of the individual's employment at Children's. Termination of employment does not prohibit the individual from seeking medical or allied health professional staff privileges at Children’s as a non-employee in any category for which the individual qualifies. Questions regarding medical or allied health professional staff privileges may be directed to Medical Staff Services.

Preferred
Minority Mental Health Specialist designation. Experience with multi-system involved children with severe behavioral problems and/or developmental disabilities.
