New England Seafood International (NESI) was established in 1991 and is an importer and processor of premium fresh and frozen sustainable fish and seafood. NESI employs circa 850 people across three sites in the UK and imports a wide range of wild and farmed fish and shellfish from all around the world. We are part of the Sealaska Corporation, an Alaska Native corporation formed in 1971 and which is owned by 26,000 Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian shareholders, who are all bloodline descendants of the first settlers to the Americas.

Supply Base Executive

     Responsible for ensuring supplier compliance by managing a supplier platform,  confirming fully robust and transparent supply chain for all raw materials Inc. packaging entering New England Seafood International.

  • To support the Business in third party and customer audits by presenting supply base information as required.
  • Maintain and continue to build the online supplier management system.
  • Including onboarding of suppliers, generation of forms and support completion.
  • Ensuring all supplier records and attachments are in place and up to date.
  • All NESI Supplier audit questionnaires are up to date and have been completed 100%.
  • All non-conformance and actions are closed out correctly, with the appropriate evidence and within the agreed timescale.
  • Liaising with NESI stakeholders on completion of supplier information i.e. supplier audits, traceability audits etc.
  • Issuing a report every two weeks to the Species and Supplier forum to demonstrate compliance and non-compliance.
  • Responsibility for creating high standards in the supply base and monitoring compliance through raw material specifications.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, ethical standards and regulations requirements.
  • At a frequency determined by risk assessment, complete supplier traceability audits, ensuring all raw materials can be traced back to source. Challenge the accuracy of supplier documentation.
  • Ensure all suppliers meet company compliance standards, including regulatory, ethical, and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier documentation for audits and governance.
  • Support supplier evaluations focused on NESI Supplier KPI’s.
  • Report any non-conformance issues promptly and assist in corrective action processes.
  • Maintain accurate supplier records in procurement systems.
  • Ensure transparency and integrity in all supplier-related transactions and communications.
  • Assist in onboarding new suppliers, ensuring they meet compliance and safety requirements before approval.
  • Verify documentation such as certifications, reports, chain of custody, and safety policies.
  • Monitor supplier activities for potential compliance or safety risks.
  • Escalate concerns to senior team members for resolution.
  • Work closely with procurement and quality teams to align supplier compliance with operational needs.
  • Support audits (including internal trace audits) and inspections by providing accurate data and documentation.
  • Stay updated on compliance regulations, ethical sourcing standards, and safety requirements.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge of governance and integrity practices.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate sound evidence of the following:

•A track record of working in a similar and fast-paced food manufacturing environment, with experience working with suppliers, customers and GFSI standards.
•Strong communication skills, using several mediums including Microsoft teams, email and telephone.
•Good problem-solving skills, with demonstratable experience in the investigation loop from start to finish, confident to escalate to internal and external customers
•Well-developed interpersonal, communication, assertiveness, and relationship-building skills
•Managing up and down across all stakeholders
•Proven ability to partner with colleagues and customers.
•Time management – self starter.
•Good knowledge of Microsoft packages.
•Excellent organization and prioritization skills.
