What we are looking for

SCS Engineers is looking for a Associate or Staff Engineer for our Phoenix office that wants to be trained and mentored in the field and office (hybrid). You will provide engineering/design support to the landfill civil and gas engineering team within our existing solid waste practice focused on landfill gas, landfill, and composting related to air quality and compliance support, permitting and design, construction, operation, and monitoring for private and municipal clients. Expect 1-3 days a week in the office depending projects.

How you can make an impact

You will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and do civil and environmental project work including:

• Landfill and landfill gas system permitting and design, including construction plans, specifications and construction documents.
• Prepare solid waste facility and environmental control system infrastructure permit applications and/or regulatory agency submittals and develop responses with supporting documentation.
• Prepare civil grading, drainage, and construction plans.
• Oversee drilling activities involving, monitoring and well installation, borehole logging, well development, and sampling.
• Conduct and document construction quality assurance observations to ensure compliance with construction documents.
• Complete quality control reviews on all work product (reports, design plans, design calculations, data, etc.) prior to submission.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and clients as directed.
• Coordinate with CAD drafters for design plans/figures or uses AutoCAD for basic design plans/ figures.
• Prepare permit applications and/or regulatory agency submittals and responses with supporting documentation as requested.
• Prepare calculations for reports and in support of design documents as requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or related major required.
• Minimum of 3 Months of relevant experience required. Consulting experience, business specific to the solid waste industry, including landfill gas management, air compliance, and landfill design and permitting, etc. preferred.
• AutoCAD experience is required.
• Valid Driver’s License with a driving record in good standing required.

Pay Range

USD $60,000.00 - USD $70,000.00 /Yr.
