This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Hours may vary depending on business needs. No weekends or holidays. Located at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla.

  • We are the largest OB/GYN site for our division within Scripps Clinic. 
  • We currently have 8 MD’s, 1 Certified Nurse Mid Wife, 1 PA and 2 FNP-C. 
  • We are a very team oriented office, patient/customer service driven and are a very communicative office.

 

Your job duties:

  • Predominantly back-office responsibilities but is expected to help with front-office duties on an as-needed basis
  • Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
  • Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
  • Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice
  • Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
  • Collecting patient data in person and by phone
  • Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
  • Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
  • Scheduling of appointments and procedures
  • Complete and accurate message taking
  • Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
  • Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
  • Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman

Required Certification/Registration:

  • BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

  • One year of experience as an MA in an outpatient setting
  • OBGYN clinic experience
