The Director, Human Resources leads HR strategy and execution for our DSD (direct store delivery) and field operations, supporting a workforce of 2,000+ frontline team members across the United States. This leader serves as a strategic advisor, influential coach, and operational partner to business leaders, driving workforce effectiveness, compliance, safety, and talent outcomes. This role will be based in our Hopkins, Minnesota offices and will lead a team of 6 HR professionals.    

 

What You Will Do:

  • Serve as a strategic HR partner to improve hiring, retention, speed to productivity, and compliance.
  • Lead DSD talent strategy, including leader capability building, coaching, and development.
  • Drive strategic workforce planning (SWP), talent and learning programs, and staffing models.
  • Partner crossfunctionally with DSD Corporate, Operations, Safety, Finance, and HR Centers of Excellence teams.
  • Oversee high-volume frontline recruiting and ensure strong field hiring outcomes.
  • Lead change management initiatives that enhance performance, culture, and operational readiness.
  • Manage employee relations, risk mitigation, progressive discipline, and investigations.
  • Ensure frontline incentive design, pay structures, and reward programs support business needs.
  • Champion safety, DOT compliance, and regulatory adherence across field operations.
  • Use data and analytics to diagnose workforce trends and drive action-oriented improvements.

What We Look For:

  • Field-first mindset with 5+ years of experience supporting distributed frontline teams (1,000+ TM).
  • Demonstrated experience with strategic workforce planning in complex operational environments.
  • Strong operational empathy; understands logistics, DSD, route-based, or similar workforce models.
  • Data-driven decision maker with a bias for action and strong influencing skills.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations, CDL environments, and union exposure.
  • A skilled developer of people with a broad range of HR experience, including both Centers of Excellence and field HR leadership roles.
  • Success in high-volume recruiting, capability building, and change leadership.

What We Offer:

The base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $200,000 annually, with eligibility for a 25% annual incentive bonus based on organizational performance. The range reflects factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and starting salary may fall anywhere within the stated range.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent (Masters degree preferred)

Years of Related Experience: 8-10 years related experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Generalist experience including advanced knowledge of all human resources disciplines and related policies and procedures (staffing/employment/relocation, employee/labor relations, total rewards, training,etc.); excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills; solid PC skills to include Microsoft Outlook,excel, word, etc.; basic understanding of business unit products, markets, policies and processes; prior management experience.
