Graduate by Hilton Bloomington is seeking a Barista to join Poindexter Coffee to support daily café operations and deliver a consistent, welcoming experience for our guests. 

Compensation: 

Barista shifts: $10.50/hour + pooled tips 

Banquet serving shifts (as assigned): $16.00/hour  

Job Duties & Responsibilities   

• Welcomes customers by determining their coffee interests and needs  

• Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu  

• Sells coffees and coffee by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines; demonstrating how brewing equipment operates  

• Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks  

• Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar  

• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance  

• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations  

• Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar  

• Other duties assigned 

• Assist Banquets & Catering as a banquet server when necessary.  

• Bus and set tables, including condiments as needed  

• Prepare room for events: set tablecloths, dishes, silverware as needed  

• Assist in cleaning and organizing at the completion of an event  

• Serve guests food and drinks during event as required  

• Follow directions as detailed from Banquet Captain or Banquet Manager  

• Other duties assigned 

Education & Experience  

• High School Diploma/GED  

• Prior Barista and/or Food Service experience preferred but not required  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
