Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

This role serves as the central data science analyst for the organization’s operational efficiency. It is responsible for the integrity and execution of all demand forecasting data, which serves as the single source of truth driving three critical systems: Inventory Replenishment (Blue Yonder), Production Planning (Logile) and Workforce Management (Labor Scheduling).

This role ensures synchronization between product flow and labor availability. It ensures that the organization not only orders and produces the correct amount of product to meet sales demand but also generates accurate labor budgets to ensure stores have the right staffing levels to receive, stock, and sell that product efficiently to serve our customers. This role functions as the “engine” of the labor and replenishment strategies.

This role requires 4 days in office for up to 6 months to learn the role and then will be able to shift to 3 days a week in office and 2 days remote. This role is located in St Louis, Missouri.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Forecast Management &  Data Integrity: Review the master demand forecasts that feeds all downstream systems. Analyze historical data, trends, and outliers to ensure the “base signal”; for both inventory and labor is accurate. Review and determine outliers to sales forecasts and make necessary adjustments to ensure ordering and scheduling accuracy.

  • Inventory Replenishment Logic: Manage and analyze replenishment parameters (safety stock, buy horizons) within the Blue Yonder & Logile suites to ensure optimal in-stock levels and inventory turns based on the demand signal

  • Workforce Management (WFM) Alignment: Translate case volume and sales forecasts into actionable labor demand data. Ensure the WFM system receives accurate “workload” drivers so store schedules match incoming truck volume.

  • KPI Analysis & Optimization: Monitor key metrics for both inventory (In-Stock %, Days of Supply) and labor (Cases Per Labor Hour, Schedule Effectiveness) to identify misalignment between supply and execution.

  • DSD Management: Ensure proper receiving and tracking of DSD (Direct Store Delivery) supplied products and manage DSD inventory management processes

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, or similar degree

  • Minimum Years of Experience: 3-6 years combined relevant experience (implied by combining the below).  1-3 years Blue Yonder, Logile replenishment software, 2-3 years experience as a people leader or 1-3 years buyer experience

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of current Microsoft desktop, laptop, and mobile related items: operating systems, email, security, MS Office Suite/Google Suite and Google Big Query

  • Forecasting Systems: Experience with Blue Yonder and Logile replenishment suite (or similar forecasting tools).

  • Data Analysis Tools: Proficiency in Alteryx or Big Query and Excel for merging disparate data sets. (Inventory vs Labor data)

  • Workforce Management: Understanding of labor scheduling logic, labor standards (Labor Standards calculation), and how volume drives labor demand.

  • Operational Flow: Understanding of store operations, specifically the receiving-to-shelf process.

Skills & Abilities

  • Communication: Strong listening and ability to explain complex data relationships to Store Operations leadership (e.g., explaining why a store earned fewer hours despite higher sales).

  • Financial Acumen: Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable replenishment information.

  • Problem Solving: Ability to use logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions (e.g., addressing supply outliers).

  • System Thinking: The ability to understand how a change in one variable (sales forecast) ripples through multiple systems (Ordering; Logistics; Labor Scheduling).
