About the Job

We are looking for a Kafka Data Platform Engineer who will be part of our Datahub team within our enterprise data organisation. The team provides a shared Kafka streaming platform and related services and developer tooling. Any service implemented is likely to rely on our Kafka infrastructure, which handles hundreds of thousands of messages per second with high expectations of availability and latency. You will be a part of a highly specialized and experienced team of six Data Platform Engineers that you can learn from and rely on for sparring and code reviews.

Responsibilities

As our new Kafka Data Platform Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to engage and collaborate with developers across Saxo. It is a great opportunity to use your experience with providing data platforms and apply this at the core of a trading system.

Responsibilities would include:

  • Deploy and manage mission critical Kafka clusters using both Kubernetes and Linux virtual machines.

  • Monitoring and optimize for low latency and high availability across multiple on-premises data centers and cloud.

  • Play a critical role in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to Kafka deployments, acting swiftly to minimize their impact.

The way we work is by implementing everything as code with continuous integration and delivery to production. We use technologies such as Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform and Azure DevOps Services.

To remain at the forefront of the industry, you'll stay updated with the latest advancements in Kafka technologies and apply relevant updates to our systems.

Your Profile

We are looking for a candidate with outstanding attention to detail, a strong sense of ownership, and excellent collaboration skills. Your colleagues trust your judgment and admire your technical insight and capabilities.

We imagine that you have proven experience with critical platforms, and strong skills in providing critical services on Linux and / or Kubernetes platforms. Preferably you also have experience with software development – e.g. using languages such as .NET, Java, or Python.

Ideally you have hands-on experience with running Kafka clusters and using technologies such as Protobuf, Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Azure DevOps, Terraform or Ansible, or a desire to acquire these skills.

Deadline for applications is . We will be reviewing applications on an ongoing basis so make sure to apply sooner than later.
