About this role

Copenhagen, Denmark

Are you passionate about qualitative and data-driven risk assessments, report writing, stakeholder management and enabling business units to mitigate the risks of Financial Crime? Are you eager to make a real impact?

Saxo Bank is seeking new colleagues to join our Financial Crime Prevention organization!

About the role(s): The position, located at Saxo’s Headquarters in Hellerup, sits within the Financial Crime Prevention (“FCP”) Group-Wide Risk Assessment & Policies team, which is part of the broader FCP organization in 1st Line of Defence.

The team is responsible for coordinating, drafting and maintaining Saxo Bank’s Group-Wide Risk Assessment (“GWRA”) and its Group-Wide policies. This includes leading, coordinating and managing the process of undertaking the Group’s principal risk assessment processes related to Financial Crime Prevention.

The Saxo Bank GWRA forms the foundation for how the Saxo Bank, including its branches and subsidiaries, organize, develop and enhance its policies, procedures and controls to combat and prevent it being misused for financial crime. It entails a comprehensive qualitative and data-driven quantitative risk identification and assessment process, in which all financial crime-related risk factors associated with Saxo Bank’s business model are identified, assessed and applied to serve as the foundation for the Group’s overall strategy, Policy Framework and operational risk management efforts.

Responsibilities

Depending on your qualifications and motivation, your responsibilities within the team may include the following:

  • Engaging with business lines to identify, analyze, describe and document Saxo Bank’s business model, including e.g. its products, services, transactions, client types, delivery channels and countries and geographical areas, where it operates.
  • Identifying, assessing and documenting money laundering, terrorist financing, proliferation financing and other financial-crime related risk factors associated with Saxo Bank’s business model.
  • Undertaking both qualitative and data-driven quantitative analysis, including through incorporating relevant data points from business lines and control functions, e.g. Client Due-Diligence and Transaction Monitoring data and insights.
  • Report writing through coordinating, collecting input, facilitating and drafting the Group-Wide Risk Assessment Report.
  • Facilitating and supporting internal training and communication efforts related to the Group-Wide Risk Assessment, including to senior management, business lines and colleagues within other Financial Crime Prevention teams.
  • Stakeholder management, including through engaging with senior management, branches and subsidiaries as well as business lines.
  • Maintaining internal governance documentation related to the GWRA process, including e.g. the Saxo Bank’s methodology for conducting the Group-Wide Risk Assessment.
  • Project management, driving overall progression and facilitating coordination across the Group whilst keeping track of deliveries, deadlines, stakeholder involvement as well as managing risks and dependencies.
  • Supporting FCP and the Group in maintaining a comprehensive risk and compliance culture, integrating risk insights into decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Facilitating risk assessment workshops and supporting regulatory implementations, collaborating with other FCP teams, 2LoD Risk & Compliance, and 3LoD Internal Audit.
  • Collaborating across Saxo to ensure compliance, operational efficiency, and enabling the development and enhancement of policies, procedures and controls.

Your Profile

  • Experience in risk identification, assessment, and management, preferably within the financial sector.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial insight, paired with a dedication to ongoing development in risk and compliance practices.
  • Possess sharp analytical skills and a solution-driven mindset, with clear and persuasive communication.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to manage a variety of tasks, including both one-time assignments and recurring responsibilities.
  • Effectively influence outcomes, build connections across diverse teams, and nurture a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Maintain a process-oriented perspective while remaining adaptable and responsive to new challenges and evolving situations.
