The role
We are currently looking for Site Engineer, 2 positions based in Salavan Province
Role Purpose
The Site Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and monitoring of construction and rehabilitation works at assigned health facility sites under the Strengthening Climate Resilience of the Lao PDR Health System Project. Reporting to the Senior Construction Coordinator, the Site Engineer ensures that all on-site activities are implemented according to approved engineering designs, specifications, quality standards, and timelines, while complying with SCI policies and donor (GCF) requirements.
The role involves working closely with contractors, consultants, local authorities, and community stakeholders to ensure that construction progresses as planned and that any technical issues or delays are promptly addressed. The Site Engineer will conduct regular inspections, maintain site records, verify contractor deliverables, and contribute to the preparation of progress reports and documentation required for payments and approvals
S/he will ensure that all construction activities at the site adhere to national safety codes, environmental and social safeguard measures, and appropriate climate-resilient construction practices. The Site Engineer also supports community engagement and awareness, especially regarding construction site safety and grievance handling where applicable.
In case of emergencies or rapid response activities, the Site Engineer may be required to support assessments and temporary facility construction or upgrades as needed.

Ensure they fully understand the provisions of the Child Safeguarding Policy, the Code of Conduct and Local/Country Procedures.
Conduct themselves in accordance with the rules of the Child Safeguarding Policy, in their personal and professional lives – which includes reporting suspicions of child abuse.
