Forklift Operator/ Order Picker- Night Shift (2pm-1am Mon-Thur)

Job Title: Warehouse Forklift Operator/ Order Picker (Cherry Picker)

Location: Savannah, GA 31415 

Job Type: Full-time

Shift: Monday through Thursday, 2:00pm - 1:00am; plus overtime

Reports To:  Loading Manager

Job Summary: 

Savannah Distributing, a family owned business since 1938 and a leader in the beverage distribution industry, is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator/ Order Picker to join our Savannah Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and order pickers to move, locate, pick and store products in our warehouse. You will also ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment while adhering to company policies and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.

• Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.

• Move materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.

• Perform regular inspections and maintenance of forklifts.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.

• Assist in organizing and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to management.

• Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and productivity.

• Build pallets with orders and position them to loading docks.

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous forklift operator certification (OSHA or equivalent) preferred.

• Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting is required.

• Strong attention to detail and safety.

• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Basic computer skills for inventory management.

• Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screening.

• Must have reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.

• Must be able to lift up to 10 to 50 pounds regularly.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work overtime as needed.
