The Basics

Location: Cherryvale, KS

Compensation: $24/hr and up

Days/Hours: These operators will work primarily night shift, 7pm to 7am, in a four on, four off pattern. You may also rotate to days or afternoons as needed.

Equipment Used: Various water treatment equipment including pumps, valves and tanks

Material Handled: Wastewater

What you’ll be doing:

The duties of this hands-on job will include operating equipment to effectively treat water prior to discharge. You will also maintain and repair that equipment, which will include but is not limited to: water and chemical lines, water wells, water towers, injectors, pumps, valves, motors, PLCs, chlorination equipment and booster station equipment. Since this is an entry level position, we are willing to train the right candidate, but we do need someone with strong mechanical aptitude.

 

Requirements to be successful in this position:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience with a DAF system is preferred.
  • Experience in a water treatment plant is preferred
  • Ability to collect and analyze operational data
  • Familiar with PCs and able to work in MS office products and learn new software
  • Able to prepare reports
  • Available to work off hours and weekends
  • For safety reasons, must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
  • Professional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications)
  • Able to pass a criminal background check

  • This job can be physically strenuous
  • You will be expected to be able to work in tight and confined spaces
  • You will work at heights
  • You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
  • This job will require the ability to ascend/descend ladders
  • You will be required to wear PPE
