The successful candidate's primary responsibilities include loading product barges, and general labor duties including but not limited to washing down and general maintenance of the coke conveyor system and work areas. Checking fluid levels and changing rollers throughout the conveyor system. 

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the  coke-handling team by operating several pieces of equipment that will help move, stockpile, and prepare petroleum coke for distribution.
  • Operate any one of the following on a daily basis: ECrane, a Cat 988 Loader, a Komatsu 1250 Excavator, and a Cat 247 Multi Terrain Loader
  • Assist the operation with other tasks deemed necessary to meet customer expectations
  • Perform thorough pre and post-trip inspections
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment
  • Gain intimate knowledge of operating equipment
  • Report maintenance issues to appropriate parties
  • Understand our critical service requirements and see they are met
  • Take an active role in our safety program including attendance at all safety meetings and ensuring safe behaviors

Required Experience:

  • Must meet refinery standards for entering the refinery, (i.e. clean criminal history, must have an active Driver License, ability to pass a hair-follicle drug screen, currently possess a Current TWIC card at the time of applying
  • Caterpillar Excavator and front-end loader experience is preferred
  • Extensive experience operating large pieces of heavy equipment

Physical Requirements:

  • Read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Should understand best practices of maintaining and safely operating Heavy Equipment
  • Be safety conscious and understand safe work practices for a refinery
  • Comfortable with heights including the ability to walk up and down conveyor belt lines and climb ladders
  • Additionally, any knowledge dealing with conveyor systems will be considered a plus, but a willingness to learn the conveyor system is a must
