The SAS Health and Life Science (HLS R&D) Team is responsible for developing cutting-edge Health and Life Sciences analytics products and is recognized as a leader in the industry. Our work spans the full spectrum of product development—including data ingestion pipelines, intuitive user interfaces, advanced analytics dashboards, machine learning models, and generative AI capabilities. Our solutions support all major Health and Life Sciences data models and are making a meaningful impact on clinical research, operational efficiency, and—most importantly—patient outcomes." 

  

As an intern, you might:  

  • Developing Generative AI applications using Python, Docker, Kubernetes, and Agentic AI frameworks. 
  • Building full-stack solutions, including React-based user interfaces and backend APIs developed in Golang or Java. 
  • Writing complex SQL and working closely with cross-functional SAS teams to deliver multi-team, enterprise-scale projects. 
  • Continuously learning and adopting the latest technological advancements, and applying those insights to enhance day-to-day development work. 

  

Required Qualifications  

  • Degree Type:  Bachelor 
  • Targeted majors: Computer Science OR Artificial Intelligence 
  • You’re a college student enrolled in an accredited program, not graduating prior to December 2026.  
  • Additional required skills/qualifications? 
    • Full Stack Development, Generative AI – RAG, and Machine Learning skills 
    • Python, React, Docker, Java, SQL, PLSQL, Agentic AI Development using Azure/Google agentic development frameworks. 
    • You’re curious, passionate, authentic, and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do.  
    • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.  
    • Leadership abilities. Your past experiences demonstrate you’ll take initiative and go above and beyond the call of duty.  
    • You’re interested in the future of Analytics and embrace technology.

Pay Transparency: The hourly rate for SAS internships is determined by the applicant’s year in school and the position they are hired into. Hourly rates range from $15 – $31 for associate’s/bachelor’s level positions and $29 - $49/hour for master’s/Ph.D positions. Internship roles are not eligible for bonus.
