About the job

This role is responsible for operational excellence across multiple SaaS offerings, including SAS Viya and other enterprise solutions. The position involves managing deployments, lifecycle operations, automation, and collaboration with R&D teams to enhance reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency in cloud environments. You will work on incident response, change execution, onboarding, upgrades, and offboarding, while driving innovation through automation and integration of cloud services.

As a Cloud Engineer, you will:

• Provide daily operational support for multiple SaaS offerings, including incident response, change execution, and update deployments.
• Collaborate with SAS R&D to define and document SaaS operator requirements, driving software enhancements and reducing manual toil.
• Manage the customer lifecycle: initial deployment, onboarding, upgrades, and offboarding across multiple SaaS solutions.
• Innovate using automation, tooling, or scripting (Python) in Azure environments to improve availability, scalability, and infrastructure provisioning.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis in partnership with SAS R&D for problem management.
• Integrate Azure cloud services into SaaS offerings to enhance value and optimize costs.
• Participate in on-call rotational assignments for critical support.

Experience: 3-4 Years

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years supporting customer-facing cloud environments, hosting services, and highly available applications.
• 2+ years experience in scripting or development languages such as Python.
• Strong understanding of web-based systems and cloud concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Collaborative team player with strong communication skills.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and independent with problem-solving abilities.
• Passion for continuous learning and mastering new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in DevOps and Agile methodologies.
• Exposure to globally dispersed teams and globally deployed products.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, JIRA).
• Knowledge of SAS products or solutions is a plus.
