We are looking to hire a PROJECT ENGINEER in Lancaster, PA. The Project Engineer will support project execution through coordination, documentation, and technical assistance, ensuring projects are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on experience in construction management and grow within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example in upholding our safety culture. Model and enforce safe practices in every environment, from the field to the office.
  • Take initiative. Provide technical support to the project team to track, troubleshoot, document, and close out project issues. When the project management team needs something done, you help make it happen.
  • Own the project document process. Ensure all drawings, specs, and related documents are organized, tracked, and compiled into a complete, accurate project set in line with company and project standards.
  • Manage submittals and RFIs. Use project directed logging system to ensure the timely submission, tracking, and return of information requests.
  • Support planning and fabrication efforts. Assist the project and field teams with any planning, tracking, communication, and logistics associated with planning and fabrication scopes at the discretion of project leadership.
  • Support procurement. At the direction of project leadership, verify order quantities, write PO requests, manage material packages, coordinate storage, and coordinate delivery logistics.
  • Support scheduling effort. Attend scheduling meetings as requested to provide schedule related impacts of managed processes.
  • Develop estimating skills. Work with the estimating and project teams to quantify the value of change order scopes through takeoff and entry into estimating software.
  • Manage information. Attend assigned meetings, take notes, process meeting minutes, communicate, and file in an organized manner.

  • Work where the action is. Be willing and capable of performing the role in the corporate office, a site office, or in the field. Conduct field observation surveys when assigned to a project site.
  • Assume any additional duties and responsibilities as delegated by Sargent Electrical Management.
Qualifications:
  • Experience with standard construction management applications (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, Navisworks, Plangrid, Procore, Primavera, or related applications).
  • Some relevant experience, up to 3 years in a multi-trade construction environment, preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or business administration preferred, or a technical college degree with (2) years construction experience.
  • Excellent written communication skills. Proficient with computers, particularly Microsoft Office applications, including the ability to type.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of diverse individuals.
  • Works efficiently under tight timeframes, responds to requests in a timely manner, and communicates effectively as a team player.
  • Understands the importance of being able to multi-task.
Travel Requirements:
  • Local travel to project sites
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Must be able to stand, bend, lift and move intermittently
  • Ability to withstand extended exposure to a computer monitor, which may at times be straining on the eyes
  • Ability to carry up to 20 pounds
