Overview of The Role:

Saputo is seeking a Legal Counsel, for an existing opportunity within our organization. The incumbent will be an integral part of the Dairy Division (Canada) legal team to support their needs as well as those of Saputo’s Corporate services. The successful candidate will provide support to several sectors of the company, including operations, sales, distribution, marketing, real estate, procurement, governmental affairs, privacy, environmental, regulatory and quality assurance and information technology.

How you will make contributions that matter:

• Draft, negotiate and interpret commercial contracts of varying types.

• Provide legal opinions and strategic advice to managers and various stakeholders.

• Provide continuous legal support to the departments and business units that are linked to Canadian and Corporate services operations.

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

• 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial law.

• Excellent legal knowledge and capacity to solve problems.

• Ability to write and negotiate exceptionally well.

• Ability to manage priorities and a large volume of projects at once.

• Good sense of business and entrepreneurship.

• Ability to establish excellent interpersonal relationships and communicate clearly and efficiently with the different multidisciplinary teams both internally and externally, in a corporate environment as well as with legal professionals.

• Strong sense of ethics and responsibility.

• Good judgment.

• Strong motivation and good customer service skills.

• Ability to work in a team and collaborate, as well as work independently.

• Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L. or LL.L.) and member of the Barreau du Québec.

• Bachelor of Common Law (LL.B.), an asset.

• Experience in commercial litigation, an asset.

• Perfectly bilingual in English and French (spoken and written).

As part of their duties, the incumbent will have to communicate and collaborate in English, both orally and in writing with colleagues or other stakeholders in Quebec as well as in the rest of Canada or in North America.

SALARY RANGE: $100,800 - $132,300

*Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.
